Secretlab may be known for its chairs, but they’ve quietly developed a suite of accessories that dramatically elevate the seated experience, especially for those who work, game, and relax in the same space. I’ve had the chance to use three of their key add-ons extensively: theProfessional Footrest, theRecliner Add-On, and theOtto Adjustable Legrest. Each serves a distinct purpose, and depending on how I’m sitting, or what I’m doing, they all shine in different ways.

Here’s how each of these Secretlab ergonomically friendly accessories compares in real-world use.

Secretlab Footrest

Professional Footrest: The Subtle but Essential Companion for Active Posture

If I’m in work mode or sitting for long periods, the Professional Footrest is the first thing I reach for. Its minimalist design hides the fact that it’s one of the most thoughtfully engineered pieces in my setup. With its Dynamic mode, the footrest allows me to gently rock my feet back and forth—something that helps release built-up tension in my legs without distracting me from my work.

Unlike the Otto Legrest or Recliner Add-On, this footrest is not designed to create a lounging experience, as it’s built to keep you active and anchored in an upright position. It’s also the most compact of the three, making it an excellent fit for tighter workspaces or standing desks, such as my Secretlab Magnus Sit-to-Stand. It’s also built like a tank with a weight that keeps it firmly in place on my epoxy flooring. I was actually shocked by how heavy this footrest is when it first arrived.

Best for: Upright work sessions that benefit from subtle movement and grounded posture.

Limitation: It only supports your feet—not your calves or legs—and offers no reclining or lounging support.

OTTO-VE-BLACK_10

Recliner Add-On: Seamless Lounging, But With Height Limits

The Recliner Add-On is Secretlab’s most directly integrated solution for laid-back comfort. It attaches directly to the chair, letting you recline with a pneumatic gas lift that adjusts from 0° to 80° while working in tandem with the chair’s seat tilt and backrest.

In terms of design, it offers the most seamless experience, as you don’t have to reposition anything; it becomes an integral part of the chair itself. However, being 5'10", I found the length of the recliner just a bit too short for my legs. My calves don’t get the same full support that I get from the Otto, especially when I sink into a deep recline.

Compared to the Otto, which is freestanding and can be positioned with precision, the Recliner Add-On is more convenient but less flexible. And unlike the Professional Footrest, it’s not made for upright posture or under-desk work sessions. With that being said, if you have limited space under your desk or just really want calf support, or if you’re on the shorter side, this is probably the perfect ergonomic add-on for your needs.

Best for: Seamless chair-integrated lounging with minimal setup.

Limitation: Slightly short for users around 5'10" or taller; not adjustable in position or height like the Otto.

Otto Adjustable Legrest: The MVP of Full-Body Support

The Otto Adjustable Legrest is, without question, the most versatile and ergonomically satisfying accessory I’ve used. Unlike the Recliner Add-On, which is fixed to the chair, the Otto can be moved freely—allowing me to shift it into the perfect position whether I’m upright, semi-reclined, or fully reclined.

With five incline levels and infinite height adjustments between 39cm (15.35 inches) and 47cm (18.5 inches), it adapts tome, not the other way around. The pebble-shaped cushion and wide surface ensure I receive proper calf-to-foot support, and even when I bounce my legs or reposition frequently, the Otto remains completely stable, even on my slick epoxy flooring. During the first two weeks of my test period, I have found myself adjusting the Otto adjustable legrest at least a dozen times a day, allowing me to discover the “sweet spot” for my comfort at any given time.

Compared to the Professional Footrest, it takes up more space, but it offers support that the other two options can’t match. And for someone who’s constantly changing sitting positions, it fills the exact ergonomic gap that Secretlab designed it for.

Best for: Total leg support and personalized positioning for any posture—from upright to deep lounge.

Limitation: A Larger footprint may be too bulky for smaller desks or limited floor space.
