Since 2014,Secretlabhas been making some of the best gaming chairs in the world. Most notably, the TITAN has become the brand’s signature model series, with various upgrades and refreshes since it was first released in 2016. In 2024, Secretlab unveiled its newest model, theTITAN Evo NanoGen Edition, which we were lucky enough at Game Rant to get our hands on early.
The NanoGen Edition of the TITAN comes with exciting new features. First, there’s the new hybrid leatherette, designed specifically for this chair, that Secretlab says is not only soft but also 14 times more durable than standard PU leather. Second, the NanoFoam composite cushioning the seat provides just the right amount of softness and firmness for all-day comfort. We’ll dive deeper into both of these features further down the review.
To kick things off, let’s start with the basics - what comes in the box and what to expect with assembly. Then, we’ll answer whether this is the best Secretlab chair yet.Spoiler alert:It is!

Contents of Box
The box for the Secretlab TITAN Evo NanoGen Edition comes tightly packed with everything needed for easy assembly. The first thing you’ll see when opening the box are assembly instructions, which indicate a total build time of 20 minutes. Under the directions, you will find the disassembled chair, beginning with the back, which is kept sealed in a plastic bag and secured around the edges with black foam. As the parts are removed, you’ll find the back with armrests, the seat, the reclining mechanic, and the legs. The wheels come separate from the legs, armrest attachments, magnetic side covers, and assembly tools.
Assembly
According to the instructions, the Secretlab TITAN Evo NanoGen Edition assembly should only take 20 minutes. This feels like a high estimate once the parts are removed from the box and assembly begins. With everything labeled clearly, and only eight screws used in total - four of which come attached to the box - anyone who has previously built their own Secretlab chair should be able to put this one together in under 10 minutes. First-time chair builders' time may vary, but we would guesstimate it would only take around 15 minutes.
First, you’ll attach the wheels to the stand. That will go to the side while you slide the back of the chair onto the seat and screw it into position. The chair comes with magnetic covers to hide the screws and connecting points. You’ll screw the reclining attachment into the bottom of the seat and maneuver the seat onto the stand, leaning the chair back onto its legscarefully. Lastly, you’ll put the cushioned armrests in place, which attach via magnets. And finally, after that, you’re able to start enjoying your Secretlab TITAN Evo NanoGen Edition gaming chair.
Design
From a fundamental design standpoint, Secretlab hasn’t messed with a winning formula. The TITAN Evo NanoGen Edition looks the same as the TITAN Evo, a chair with a subtle racer design that matches any gaming setup but doesn’t look out of place in an office setting. It’s an icon for a reason. As mentioned above, there are a fewsignificantdesign changes. Those are the leatherette material, as well as the foam cushioning. So, just what is NanoGen and NanoFoam technology? Let’s dive in!
It’s been three years since Secretlab upgraded its hybrid leatherette. In 2021, the company introduced the NEO hybrid leatherette. Now, we have the brand new NanoGen hybrid leatherette. To create this ultra-durable new material, Secretlab developed a way to integrate ultra-dense nanofibers in the base and surface layers of the covering, which they claim enhances both structural integrity and softness. The new hybrid leatherette also has an advanced dye coating for increased UV resistance. Specialty nanofibers have also been added for enhanced stain resistance.
The second new design feature is the NanoFoam composite, a brand-new cushioning that combines the ergonomic support of Secretlab’s cold-cure foam underneath a layer of soft microfoam. This combination of soft and firm works reasonably well and will keep your body comfortable through extended gaming sessions with minimal discomfort.
The Secretlab TITAN Evo NanoGen Edition is available in pure white or black. It also comes standard with the brand’s full-metal 4D armrest with CloudSwap technology.
Comfort and Adjustments
To put it bluntly, the Secretlab TITAN Evo NanoGen Edition doesn’t miss the mark regarding comfort. The new hybrid leatherette and NanoFoam are exceptional. Being sent the pure white version of the chair, there was plenty of trepidation about keeping the leatherette clean while working and gaming. Luckily, no liquid was spilled on the chair, but any debris from snacks or life, in general, was quickly brushed away without leaving any signs of residue. The material itself is very soft to the touch while still feeling durable. Most notably, the NanoGen hybrid material started every session cool and stayed cooled the entire time - including eight hours a day on some work days. While other chairs get excessively warm, leading to uncomfortable back sweat, this chair stays comfortable. It is important to note that this could change during warmer summer months, but this was one of the best discoveries during initial testing.
The NanoFoam composite also proved a big winner. You’ll love this if you prefer firmer surfaces for sitting or sleeping (not that you’ll be sleeping in the chair, but you might!). The backrest is firm but offers enough give to cradle your back comfortably. Significantly, this can also be adjusted using knobs on the side of the chair to move and improve lumbar support based on your body. Playing with these settings was one of the most enjoyable parts of the assembly and setup process. After putting together the chair, one of the first things you will want to do when you sit down for the first time is to find your optimal lumbar positioning. Compared to other chairs that only provide lumbar pillows, having the support built into the backrest the way it feels is more natural and ergonomic.
Secretlab seats do tend to be firmer than other gaming chair seats. This can be both good and bad. After long sessions, the Titan Evo NanoGen’s seat may get uncomfortable for some, especially if you’re not getting up and moving every couple of hours. But that can likely be said about every gaming chair on the market. For those who prefer more firmness like myself, there is just enough give to let the chair form to your body while still supporting you in whatever position you choose to sit in.
Just about everything on the Secretlab TITAN Evo NanoGen Edition can be adjusted. The armrests can be adjusted up and down, pushed inside, and pointed in or out. The backrest can recline up to 165 degrees on the stable base. The neck pillow can be moved around until you find the perfect spot to rest your neck. The seat itself is height-adjustable for a variety of body types and sizes.
Should You Buy?
And now, to answer the million-dollar question: Should you buy the Secretlab TITAN Evo NanoGen Edition gaming chair? The short answer is yes. This chair, first and foremost, is sturdy and well-built. Which, of course, is expected from Secretlab. What is unexpected is how smoothly the new NanoGen technology makes itself at home in this chair. The NanoGen hybrid leatherette is soft and stays cool, even after hours of sitting in it, whether gaming or working from home. The NanoGen composite foam also ensures hours of comfort that won’t disappoint you. And the PlushCell memory foam armrest top that comes standard adds a luxurious comfort layer. The Secretlab Titan Evo NanoGen addition is available right now.
