Atlus has released a new patch forShin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance, introducing new demon navigators, a subquest, Elite Virtual Trainers, and more. This update forShin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeanceis free and available now on all consoles and PC.

Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeanceis an enhanced version of the originalShin Megami Tensei 5. The game’s first version was released in 2021 exclusively for the Switch, whileVengeancelaunched in 2024 with releases on all other major platforms as well. The release ofShin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeancebrought new contentsuch as additional areas, demons, visual improvements, and a whole new story path called Canon of Vengeance, adding over 80 hours of gameplay content. This unique storyline follows the same plot as the original but features notable changes starting in the middle of the narrative to the end.

Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeancejust received update 1.03, which is currently available on all platforms. The patch adds six new Demon Navigators chosen through a community vote, including Mara, Idun, Mothman, Fionn mac Cumhaill, Hell Biker, and Cleopatra.Demon Navigators accompany the Nahobinoon the world map, hunting for items and offering quest hints, but they don’t participate in battles.

The update also introduces a new subquest called “The Guardian of Light,” which can be accepted by speaking with Goko in Taito Ward. The reward for completing it is unlocking a new demon, Marici, for fusion. This patch also adds Elite Virtual Trainers, but activating them requires completing certain subquests not specified in the patch notes.Virtual Training inShin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeanceinvolves challenges against previous boss incarnations, suggesting that Elite Virtual Trainers might be the toughest challenges yet.

Lastly, the update also fixes various bugs, including text issues, graphics glitches, and even tweaks to the English voiceover. As expected, this update only applies to the enhanced version of the JRPG and not the originalSMT5release, giving even morereasons to playShin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeanceover the original version.
