WithSlitterhead’s launch just around the corner, a full list of achievements for the game has appeared online.Slitterheadis the debut title of Bokeh Game Studio, the studio formed by the creator of Konami’s acclaimedSilent Hillhorror franchise, Keiichiro Toyama. A lot of anticipation and excitement has been buzzing around the game, as it features a blend of fast-paced action gameplay and psychological horror elements.Slitterheadalso features some other well-known names, such as composer Akira Yamaoka, who also previously worked onSilent Hill.
Slitterheadis a unique horror experience that has the primary gameplay mechanic of possessing people through a supernatural spirit named Hyoki. As a spirit, the player aims to hunt and kill Slitterheads, who are beings that consume the brains and the memories of their victims. The upcoming action-horror game will have a set of achievements that players can collect, with this list giving intrigued fans an idea ofwhat to expect fromSlittherhead.
Based ona list posted on TrueAchievements, Slitterhead will have 41 achievements in total, with 23 of them being secrets until they are unlocked by reaching a specific story chapter or accomplishing a difficult task. The list on TrueAchievements also provides some details of the secret achievements separately from the list, as some of them do give spoilers onSlitterhead’s storyand plot beats, including the final boss. As such, if fans want to go in completely blind aboutSlitterhead’s release, they should be wary and stay away from the names and conditions of these achievements.
Completion might be difficult, due to the “Apex Hyoki Legend” achievement, which asks players to beatSlitterheadon the Nightmare, which is harder than the Hard difficulty. There are also smaller Gamescores awarded for accomplishing certain tasks, such as defeating a certain number ofSlitterhead’s enemies in combat, causing civilian casualties, or activating Blood Time. Players can earn 1000 Gamerscore in total if they get everything. The story-related achievements seem to hint at branching decisions for certain bosses.
Other achievements inSlitterheadinclude collecting all the Rarity masks, costumes, and gathering all of Hyoki’s own memory fragments. There is also a particularly gory achievement called “You Dropped Something,” which requires the player to cut offa Slitterhead’s human partsfor the first time. TheSilent Hill 2remake was recently released to positive critical reception, after a bit of trepidation. WithSilent Hill 2andSlitterheadhaving pretty close release windows, it should make for an interesting comparison between the two games, especially since the original creator ofSilent Hillwas behind the latter.
