Details of the game’s new features on PS5 Pro were revealed by publisher EA on November 7, the same day as the launch of the new mid-generation PlayStation console. Featuring a slew of upgrades over the standard PlayStation 5 console that was released in 2020, including better memory, rendering, and storage space, the PlayStation 5 Pro should bring better performance to any PS5 game when played on the new console. However, multiple developers have updated their games to take advantage of the new hardware, and thelist of PS5 Pro-enhanced games at the console’s launchnumbers more than 50, includingStar Wars Jedi: Survivor.
While the announcement on theofficial EA websitedoesn’t include anysurprise PS5 Pro upgradesaside from visual and performance improvements, EA uses it to break down the PS5 Pro-enhancedStar Wars Jedi: Survivorupgrades into two parts that both deal with noticeably higher base resolutions in both Performance Mode and Quality Mode. When runningStar Wars Jedi: Survivorin Quality Mode, the PS5 Pro version upscales visuals from 1800p to 2160p while maintaining 4K resolution and raytraced elements. When switched to Performance Mode, the new console upscales the game’s resolution from 1200p to 1800p, still providing more vibrant and detailed visuals, and that mode also utilizes raytraced occlusion and reflections while maintaining a 60 fps frame rate.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor PS5 Pro Enhancements
Originally released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in April 2023, the action-adventure game set in theStar Warsuniverse was ported to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One less than two months ago. Developer Respawn Entertainment is still working to release patches for the game, with aStar Wars Jedi: Survivorupdate from Octoberspecifically targeting gameplay improvements on last-generation console versions. While neither Respawn nor EA has stated as such, some fans have stated the belief that the October patch will allow the last-gen version of the game at least one more potential future release on the eventual successor to the Nintendo Switch.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivorisn’t the only game from its fictional galaxy that has received an enhanced PS5 Pro version.
