Many fans are looking forward to experiencingthe first-ever open-worldStar Warsgame, akaStar Wars Outlaws. Ubisoft’s take on the iconic space opera series is set to release on August 30. However, Gold and Ultimate Edition owners can start playing as early as August 27. While Xbox Series X|S and PS5 owners can rest assured that their consoles will handle the game smoothly, the same can’t be said for PC players.
Fortunately,Ubisofthas provided detailed information about the game’s system requirements. Unlike other developers, Ubisoft has also specified the expected frame rate for different hardware configurations. As with most modern games,Outlawsrequires a64-bit version of Windows 10 or 11as the operating system. AnSSD is also a necessity; an age-old HDD simply won’t cut it this time.
1080p @ 30FPS
LOW Preset with Upscaler set to Quality
CPU
AMD Ryzen 5 3600 @ 3.6 GHz or Intel Core i7-8700K @ 3.70 GHz
Graphics
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 (6 GB), AMD RX 5600XT (6 GB), or Intel Arc A750 (8 GB, ReBAR on)
16 GB (dual-channel mode)
Storage
65 GB SSD
The above specifications are the bare minimum required to play the game. Players will need either a Ryzen 5 3600 or a Core i7-8700K as CPU, and it will need to be paired with either a GeForce GTX 1660 or an RX 6500 XT GPU. For Intel GPU owners, an Arc A750 or better is required, with ReBar feature enabled. The game also requires 65 GB of storage and 16 GB of RAM. The latter should be in dual-channel mode, meaning a single 16 GB RAM stick might cause performance issues with the game.
These specs will only achieve 1080p at 30 FPS on the Low preset with upscaler set to Quality. While players can certainly enjoy the game with these settings, it won’t deliver the best experience.
1080p @ 60FPS
HIGH Graphics Preset with Upscaler set to Quality
AMD Ryzen 5 5600X @ 3.7 GHz or Intel Core i5-10400 @ 2.9 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti (8 GB) or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT (12 GB)
The settings mentioned above are likely what most players will use. To run the game at 1080p with 60 FPS on High graphics settings with upscaler set to Quality, they’ll need either a Ryzen 5 5600X or a Core i5-10400 CPU, paired with either a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti or a Radeon RX 6700 XT GPU. The RAM and storage requirements remain the same.
Regardless of the setup, players will need16 GB of RAM in dual-channel modeand 65 GB of SSD storage, even if aiming for 4K resolution. TheRAM requirement might increaseif players plan to go beyond 4K, but that’s beyond the reach of most players anyway.
1440p @ 60FPS
AMD Ryzen 7 5800X @ 3.8 GHz or Intel Core i5-11600K @ 3.9 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (10 GB)/NVidia GeForce RTX 4070 (12GB) or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT (16 GB)
For players who prefer higher resolutions, the requirements increase significantly. They’ll need a Ryzen 7 5800X, an Intel Core i5-11600K, or a comparable CPU. On the GPU side, a GeForce RTX 3080/RTX 4070 or a Radeon RX 6800 XT would be sufficient. This setup should deliver 60 FPS at 1440p with the High graphics preset and Quality upscaling.
4K @ 60FPS
ULTRA Graphics Preset with Upscaler set to Quality
AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D @ 3.4 GHz or Intel Core i7-12700K @ 3.8 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 (16 GB) or AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX (24 GB)
The above requirements are for PC players who want the best of everything, whether it’s resolution or graphics settings. To achieve this, theirPC specs will need to be on the higher end, with a Ryzen 7 5800X3D or an Intel Core i7-12700K as CPU, paired with either a GeForce RTX 4080 or an AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX —the best AMD GPU in the market. This setup should get players 60 FPS at 4K with the Ultra preset, using an upscaler set to Quality.
For players who prefer their render resolution to be native — meaning they don’t want to use anyupscaling technologieslike FSR or DLSS — the hardware requirements for achieving their desired resolution will be even higher.
