10Camofrog
Decked Out In Camouflage
Camofrog has appeared in allAnimal Crossinggames so far, but inAnimal Crossing: New Horizons, his house got a major upgrade. Where before his house was filled with trash and metal, now his house isa camouflaged jungle scene with wooden furniture and camping gear.
This house really suits Camofrog and the jungle setting with updated items is a welcome change. Although the exterior of the house doesn’t match Camofrog’s character as well as the interior, it is stillsuited to the jungle theme.
9Petri
The Home Of Scientific Discovery
Introduced on Aug 02, 2025, in the 2.0 update ofAnimal Crossing: New Horizons,Petri is a small mouse villager with big scientific dreams.His house interior reflects his character very well with the laboratory layout and plain white bed.
The exterior of the house (rather satisfyingly) matches Petri’s blonde hair and white lab coat and isn’t too garish - making it a great neutral addition to players' islands. Additionally, the cluttered desk with scattered papers and the drying dishes further accentuate his busy character.
8Sheldon
A Fall-Inspired Mushroom Forest
Sheldon made hisAnimal Crossingdebut inAnimal Crossing: New Leaf, but hisAnimal Crossing: New Horizonshouse outshines his original abode. With a mushroom-populated forest, Sheldon’s house’s interior pays homage to his squirrel species and isaccentuated by a forest pathwaywallpaper.
The exterior of Sheldon’s house alsodelivers a forest-like feel, with its medium wood paneling and green roof, and reflects Sheldon’s fur and ear color. However, there is no connection to Sheldon’s personality type throughout the house, which is a little disappointing.
7Ankha
Ancient Egypt Reimagined
Ankha is a fan-favorite villager that has been part of theAnimal Crossingfranchise since its very conception. Her houses have always reflected herAncient Egyptian influencesand have been very visually impressive.
However, herAnimal Crossing: New Horizonshouse interior is a slight downgrade from herAnimal Crossing: New Leafone, as the items inside are more sparse and less varied. Nonetheless, her house is stillone of the best themed throughout the gameand keeps wholly within her aesthetic, especially in its exterior, earning its place on this list.
6Avery
A Throwback To The Wild West
Avery made his first appearance inAnimal Forest e+, an update to the Japanese-exclusive GameCube port ofAnimal Forest. His first worldwide appearance was inAnimal Crossing: City Folk,where he coined his initial phrase of “skree-haw”, a combination of the sound an Eagle makes and the phrase ‘yee-haw’.
His house reflects hisWild West aesthetic, with its rocky flooring and mountainous wallpaper in orange hues. The addition of a campfire, torches, and stone furnishingsfurther the historical feel of his house’s interior. The exterior captures Avery’s color scheme in a darker hue but retains the Western feel with its paneled door.

Hans was introduced inAnimal Crossing: New Leafand, like Camofrog, had a major house aesthetic upgrade inAnimal Crossing: New Horizons. Hans' house interior features a snowy landscape wallpaper featuring skiers, snowy trees, and camping equipment, creating an icy mountain aesthetic that reflects his Yeti-inspired appearance.

Lucky is another fan-favorite villager inAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsand has always been a part of theAnimal Crossingfranchise. His oxymoronic name and bandaged appearance suit his house’s aesthetic completely.
With its black and white exterior, matching Lucky’s bandages and ears,the house perfectly encapsulates the somewhat morbid backstory of Lucky. The interior of the house only furthers this with its inclusion of gravestones, flowers, and a skeleton ominously lurking in the back. Lucky’s house feels quite tongue-in-cheek, fitting with his characteristic consistency across theAnimal Crossingfranchise.
3Cephalobot
Machinery Fit For A Robot
Like Petri, Cephalobot was introduced to theAnimal Crossingfranchise inAnimal Crossing: New Horizons' 2.0 update on July 17, 2025. The exterior of his house seems fairly unassuming at first glance, making the interior that much more impactful.
With extensive machinery, gadgets, and even a sleep pod, Cephalobot’s house interior is completely in keeping withhis robotic appearance. Details such as the gray skull music player and surgical equipmentadd a layer of intrigue to Cephelabot’s characterwhilst maintaining a consistent and visually striking color scheme.
2Phoebe
Rising From The Ashes
Phoebe was introduced to the franchise inAnimal Crossing: New Leafbut has had both a house and character upgrade since then inAnimal Crossing: New Horizons. She islabeled as an Ostrich villager, but her new house design indicates that she is actually a phoenix.
Inside her home, there is lava-rock wallpaper and flooring, representing a volcano from which a phoenix is meant to rise from the ashes. The exterior of the house complements the colors of her appearance while being unassuming,allowing for the interior to be surprising and impactful upon entry. The Winning Horse
Victoria shares her first appearance with Avery, in the Japanese-exclusiveAnimal Forest e+. The colors of the exterior of her house match her appearance perfectly and lend to the aesthetic of a horse’s barn.
The interior holds a colorful horse race, in which Victoria clearly comes out on top with her winner’s banner waving in the back of the room. The addition of the hay bale as her bed, the bunting across the walls, and the track flooring combine the aesthetics of Victoria’s personality type, species, and appearance with the interior of her house. Victoria’s house overall isa perfect execution of aesthetic continuity and theminginAnimal Crossing: New Horizons.
