Shadow is one of the best party members inFinal Fantasy 6, there’s no denying that. However, while this mercenary is quite powerful in combat, he also sports a dark history that has led to him being rather dark and aloof at times.
While the tragedies he suffered in his past may justify his edgy personality, he’s far from the only person inFinal Fantasy 6who has suffered personal tragedies. While Locke manages to stay upbeat despite losing the love of his life, Shadow recedes and adopts a cold-hearted personality that makes him a memorable character in the eyes of many.

This dragoon is in constant conflict over the nature of his actions in the past along withhis feelings for a womanwho loves his best friend. These moral quandaries lead to him being rather edgy at times, but his cold personality is justified for the most part.
Most people aren’t hugefans ofFinal Fantasy 8because of its protagonist, who can seem insufferable at times with how dismissive he can be of his allies. This edgy personality can make for a poor first impression, but it doesn’t take long for Squall to show his true colors.
Under his indifferent attitude, Squall harbors deep insecurities about how unreliable he is and doesn’t want to be responsible for a group of people he can fail at any given moment if he exhibits poor decision-making. Thankfully, his friends refuse to give up on Squall, recognizing his natural capabilities as a leader and compelling him to be better for the sake of the people relying on him.
Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Originmakes no effort to hide the edgy nature of its protagonist, a mysterious character consumed by his hatred for Chaos. He can be quite brutal and edgy for his own good, leading to unintentionally hilarious moments that will make fans guffaw in otherwise serious moments.
Thankfully, fans ofFinal Fantasywill love the wild nature of this story andhow Jack’s personality is justifiedto an extent. The game may have its flaws but is worth checking out for players who want to check out a unique take on the events that lead up to the first game’s story.
Auron is one of the best characters inFinal Fantasy 10, utilizing his overpowering strength to take out any foe that dares to stand in his way. It’s not until the final stages of this game’s narrative that fans find out about Auron’s true origin as an Unsent who was whisked to Spira along with Tidus to put an end to Sin’s rampage once and for all.
Hehates Yunalesca for manipulating his friendsand killing him, hiding this hatred behind a cool and calm personality that features a decent sprinkling of edge. Auron has no haters despite his cold attitude, mainly because players accept this side of his character for the sheer power he wields in battle.
The bond shared by the main cast ofFinal Fantasy 15is a huge reason why this game was beloved by many. Despite having the bulk of the screen time, it’s Noctis who ends up being slightly unlikeable for sporting an attitude despite having the support of his friends.
While he does open up from time to time,Noctis has a habitof either showing no emotions at all or lashing out like a spoiled brat whenever he’s in a mood. For what it’s worth, the events ofFinal Fantasy 15weigh heavily on Noctis' mind and lead to him being so aloof and aggressive at times.
