There are lots of tools that players can get their hands on inTheForest.From the primitive to the advanced, many things can be used to chop down trees,build bases, and fight off hostile enemies. The chainsaw is a great tool that also doubles up as a pretty effective weapon that can be used to take down hostile creatures and cannibals.
While getting the chainsaw can be a bit of a struggle, it’s more than worth it as it allows the player to be much more efficient in terms of base building. In a game where players need to work fast, having a chainsaw can really help to speed things up.
Where To Find The Chainsaw
To find the chainsaw, you’ll need to head to the Wet Cave.The Wet Cave (Cave 3) is located toward the western side of the Fertile Lands. To find this location, you may want toget the map first. There are two entrances to this cave. One is right behind the tents next to the river, and the other is located towards the bottom of the river. A lot of the cave is underwater. Players will need to bring a rebreather in order to get through all of the underwater areas. There are also some high ledges that require the player touse a climbing axein order to scale.
Players wanting to get in and out as quickly as possible should go in through the entrance by the tents. Once inside, follow the directions below to get to the chainsaw:
How To Find Fuel For The Chainsaw
At first glance, fuel looks like a limited resource. However, it’s possible to gather an almost unlimited amount pretty easily. There are a few locations dotted around the map where you’re able to pick up some fuel.However, the best places are inside caves.The reason for this is that if you enter a cave, pick up fuel, and leave, you can re-enter the cave and the fuel will have respawned.

Out of the caves listed above, Cave 3 (Wet Cave) is one of the easiest places to farm fuel. There’s fuel pretty close to the chainsaw. With a bit of practice, you can run in and out grabbing fuel very quickly. One important thing to note about respawning fuel is that it only seems to respawn for the server host. If you are playing on somebody else’s server, then there’s no guarantee that the fuel will respawn after you leave and re-enter a cave.
