Summary
Once Humanis fundamentally asurvival game, despite its eerie, horror-infused narrative. The world is filled with terrifying adversaries, each possessing bizarre abilities, accompanied by unsettling soundscapes. For a free-to-play title, it offers impressive depth, especially within its intricate crafting system.
Taming creatureswas added toOnce Humanin a patch some five weeks after the game’s initial launch The player needs to unlock the taming memetics, and then craft both Tranquilizer Darts and an Animal Trough to begin their animal taming career. Once an animal has been tamed, the player can build a pen, place a trough in it, and then spawn the animal inside the pen. With all that said, some animals are harder to tame than others.
7Rabbits
Sneak Up On Them
Rabbitsare found everywhere on the map inOnce Human, so why did such a common creature make it onto this list? Well, rabbits scare very easily. In order to tame a rabbit, the player needs to get close to one, but this is easier said than done.
Use crouch to approach a rabbit before taming it. If the rabbit gets spooked and runs away, don’t worry, stay crouched until it stops running and try again. Eventually, it should be possible to sneak close enough and start taming it. Once tamed and placed in a pen, the rabbit meat can be farmed tocook food.
6Deer
They Tend To Run Away
Deerare another common creature inOnce Human. They can be found in every zone from the starting area up to and including Chalk Peak. However, once the player moves into the desert zones, there are no deer at all.
Deer spook very easily, so expect to have to crouch and sneak up on them to tame them. A good trick is to look for a deer that has wandered away from the herd, and target that one, so that the rest of the herd will not spook and start the whole herd running away. Another option isto use abowto thin the herd before trying to tame deer.
5Boar
Come In Groups
Boarsare common creatures in all zones as far as Chalk Peak, but beyond this, they are non-existent. They generally spawn in groups of three, and being attacked by three high-level boars can be a dangerous proposition. This means that taming them can be a challenge.
The best idea is to look for a boar that has wandered away from its friends, and then approach it from a position opposite the others. The boar will very likely attack during the taming process, but it is much easier to tank one boar than a group of them.
4Goats
Must Be Stalked
Goatscome in a few shapes and sizes. There are rams, ewes, and kids. They can only be found in the desert regions, from Red Sands and beyond, where they replace deer as the most prolific indigenous animal in thishorror game.
All goats spook very easily, and as they often spawn in larger groups, this can make them hard to tame, as once one member of the herd spooks and runs, so will the rest. A good tip here is to look for a smaller group of goats, and then look for a single goat that has wandered away from the herd. Trying to tame that one should keep the rest of the herd calm.
3Bears
Can Be Dangerous
Bearsare mostly found in the Chalk Peak zone, and the best place in this zone to find them is inside the hidden cave at the top of the peak. Bears can do a fair amount of melee damage, so expect to have to tank some incoming DPS while taming one.
Bears can spawn alone or in groups. The easiest way to tame a bear inOnce Humanis to find a solo spawn of a lower-level bear. However, players who are at max level with good gear should be fine taming any level of bear in thissurvival shooter.
2Crocodiles
Found Near Water
FindingcrocodilesinOnce Humancan be quite hard. They only spawn alone near water, and are short, flat animals that are not always visible in long grass. The best way to find one is to head to the Chalk Peak zone and follow the bank of one of the many rivers in this area until one is spotted.
Expect to need to tank a significant level of incoming damage while taming a crocodile inOnce Human, as they are very aggressive animals. Finding one that is lying in a river can make taming easier, as they seem to be less aggressive when in this state.
1Wolves
Hunt In Packs
Wolvescan be found in every zone from Chalk Peak onwards. They generally spawn as a pack of three wolves and are extremely aggressive. Players will likely not have to search for wolves, as even a short jaunt across the wilderness will likely result in a pack that begins to stalk the player.
Wolves attack together, and there is no way to isolate a single wolf from the pack before trying to tame it. Therefore, the player needs to either tank the entire pack (if they intend to tame them all), or kill all but one wolf before starting to tame it.
