Assassin’s Creed ShadowsTitle Update 1.0.7 will be released tomorrow, July 29, and will introduce the highly anticipated New Game+ mode to the popular action-adventure title, along with many other improvements and bug fixes. The development team at Ubisoft is continuing to roll out patches forAssassin’s Creed Shadows, with the game seeing additional polish and fresh content since its late March release.
Despite facing earlier criticism and pushback regarding its main characters and historical accuracy,Assassin’s Creed Shadowshas found incredible successin the months following its launch, boasting over five million players and finding praise for its stealth gameplay and rich open world. This has been a major boon for Ubisoft, as the company has faced several trials recently, including layoffs as part of a major restructuring effort. Following the underperforming release ofStar Wars Outlaws,Assassin’s Creed Shadowshas fared much better, and an incoming update will continue to improve the most recent game in the long-running franchise.
The developer ofAssassin’s Creed Shadowshas revealed more about Title Update 1.0.7, which is slated to be released on July 29. To many players' excitement, the patch will finally add New Game+, allowing fans to start a new game while keeping all collected gear, skills, Allies, and hideout progression after completing the main story on any difficulty. Finishing a New Game+ playthrough will also grant players new weapons and armor. Additionally, the level cap has been raised from 60 to 80, and the Knowledge Rank system has been expanded to nine and 10. Three new achievements have been added as well, and dozens of bugs have been fixed. More updates are expected throughout 2025, and while player response is largely positive, it was recently revealed that an upcoming September patch would makechanges to the map inAssassin’s Creed Shadows, something many fans aren’t pleased about.
Last week, comments made by Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot and CFO Frederick Duguet implied thatAssassin’s Creed Shadowsis coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, though this has yet to be confirmed. The action-adventure game is rumored to be making the leap to the new hybrid console during the current fiscal year, which will end in March 2026.
Following prolonged speculation, Ubisoft recently confirmed therelease date for the Claws of Awaji DLC, with the large expansion set to come toAssassin’s Creed Shadowson September 16. Players can expect around 10 hours of additional gameplay, a new area, and new weapons and armor.

Upon completing the main story on any difficulty, start a new game while keeping all collected skills, gear, Allies and hideout progression from your first playthrough. You can start a New Game+ playthrough from the Memory Menu in the Animus after finishing all journeys of Naoe, Yasuke and Junjiro.
Upon completing a New Game+ playthrough you’ll be awarded Whisper of Gold, and Dragon’s Gold! Brand new gold plated Legendary Long Katana and Legendary Katana with their own unique perk engravings.

KNOWLEDGE RANK & LEVEL CAP INCREASE
Prepare to push beyond your limits! We’ve raised the level cap from 60 to 80, meaning tougher foes with enhanced tactics and awareness - demanding sharper reflexes and smarter strategies.
To meet this rising threat, we’ve also expanded the Knowledge Rank system to 9 & 10 allowing players to unlock and develop a broader array of skills, passives, and combat techniques to become even more masterful.
New Game+ awaits! But before taking on the task of a new journey, you can upgrade the passives and skills of Naoe and Yasuke! Players will gain 1 new rank for multiple nodes in their Mastery Skills, and 10 new ranks for all existing Knowledge passives to become even more formidable.
A test of your skills is no match without the right gear! The Forge can now be upgraded to level 4, allowing players to upgrade all weapons and gear to level 80 to have the edge on the rising threats that await.
