The Director of Requiem Has Some Dark Plans, But What Are They?
Little is known of this new version of Edward Richtofen. The fan-favorite Zombies character has returned, and this time, with his soul intact. Eddie Richtofen is the Director of Requiem, and it seems his plans have become yet another grand scheme, but what exactly could it be?
Based on certain background lore and cutscenes, audiences know that Richtofen’s wife and child are dead. However, they also know that he is experimenting with time travel, and forces outside of the realm of science. 5Gabriel Krafft is Still Alive
The Old Scientist Would Be Well Over 100 in 1991
Call of Duty: Vanguard might not have been the most beloved title, especially when it came to Zombies, but it still had one character that has been confirmed canon for Black Ops 6’s Dark Aether storyline with Professor Gabriel Krafft. Krafft was a Professor who aided the Allies' efforts in stopping the Zombie invasion during World War 2.
However, Krafft was an old man during World War 2, and consideringBlack Ops 6’s Zombies takes place in 1990/1991, it would seem unlikely that Krafft is still alive. However, he is confirmed to be alive, and interrogated by the French Syndicate, so that would make Krafft potentially over 130 years old. What de-aging secrets is he hiding?
4Samantha Maxis is Replaced by an AI Known as S.A.M.
Maxis May Be Gone, But An A.I. Lives in Her Place
Samantha Maxis used her Dark Aether powers to destroy the Forsaken, yet was that truly the end of this character? While Samantha’s fate remains unknown, and it’s more than likely she’s being corrupted by the Dark Aether after all these years, it hasn’t stopped Eddie Richtofen from making his own version of Samantha with S.A.M., an artificial intelligence that was taught through the voice and personality of Samantha Maxis.
While Samantha isn’t the A.I. itself, it’s still interesting the lengths Richtofen would go to, and how S.A.M. can now directly challenge Richtofen and hack into Requiem’s most private files. With Samantha Maxis still gone, and Richtofen’s story going rogue, it will be interesting to see what this machine-learning A.I. can tell audiences.
3Requiem’s Zombie Experiments
Terminus Island Holds Many Monsters, Made by Doctor Modi
It seems that despite the efforts of Requiem’s strike team in the past, they were not always the good guys, and they especially aren’t now. The Requiem that Weaver once worked for has now taken new steps to become the new Group 935, and it seems that Richtofen has hired the most ruthless of scientists to aid in his efforts to experiment with Aetherium, this new universe’s version of Element 115.
The scientists assigned to Terminus Island, like Dr. Modi, have advanced their experiments to create some unnatural and unholy entities for the zombie army. Modi’s new zombies consist of sharper teeth, Amaglams, and of course, Patient 13, which isa literal kraken-sized sea monster.
2The Chaos Storyline Becomes Canon
The Sentinel Artifacts and Prima Materia Return from Black Ops 4
The biggest reveal inBlack Ops 6 Zombiesso far is the fact thatthe Chaos StorylinefromBlack Ops 4is now directly tied with the current canon. Chaos died withBlack Ops 4alongside the Aether storyline, both of which would never be connected. However,Black Ops 6has reintroduced infamous concepts like Prima Materia and the Sentinel Artifact, shaping the story to come.
With the Chaos Storyline now canon toBlack Ops 6, most players are curious as to how this blend of fantasy, mythology, and science fiction will work to craft something reminiscent of the nostalgic days of Zombies.
