Ja Wangnan Meets FUG – Tower of God Season 2 Episode 6

Viole Meets Up With Two FUG Members

An Awkward Conversation and Confirmation That Viole Is Bam

The episode picks up from where episode 5 left off, with Yihwa questioning Viole about meeting up with other members of FUG without telling the team. Her suspicion also has something else brewing beneath the surface, and Ja Wangnan even makes fun of her later in the episode for being flustered at the sight of Viole meeting with another woman in secret. While things get a bit tense because she has infiltrated a FUG meeting, Viole manages to de-escalate the situation, inviting Hwaryun and a man known as Ha Jinsung to the apartment where they get to meet Ja Wangnan and the team.

Naturally, no one is able to relax while in the presence of members ofwhat is regarded as a terrorist organization, but the FUG operatives have brought snacks and seem friendly. At some point, Viole heads to the roof to look at the sky as he often does, Goseng takes a sleepy Miseng off to bed and the group adjourns, leaving Wangnan alone with Hwaryun. Ha Jinsung joins Viole on the roof and drops the piece of information we have been looking for, in case it hasn’t been made abundantly clear by now: Jue Viole Grace is Bam.

Ja Wangnan’s Team – Tower of God Season 2 Episode 6

FUG’s Intentions For Viole Are Revealed

Bam’s Friends Are Being Held Hostage

When the group has dissipated,Hwaryun tells Ja Wangnanthat Ha Jinsung seems friendly enough, but they’re all actually lucky to still be alive because everyone at FUG is dissatisfied with the team around Viole. She explains that within the ranks of FUG, Viole is a presence likened to a god because he has the potential to realize the organization’s prime objective and “make people’s dreams a reality”. What this is in reference to is Viole’s ability to do something most residents of the Tower cannot: kill King Jahad. The king formed a contract with the Administrators of the Tower, making him impervious to attack by any resident of the Tower.

This solidifies his rule over the Tower. As explained in the first season, “Regulars” are those who are granted access to the Tower, and have to play by its rules, while “Irregulars” are those who enter the Tower of their own accord. Irregulars are not bound by the rules of the Tower, meaning thatIrregulars are the only ones capable of killing Jahad. Hwaryun reveals that Bam is not following their orders for his own sake, but to protect his friends, who are essentially being held hostage. Should Bam fail to climb the Tower, or defy orders, his friends will be picked off one by one. Upon learning this, Wangnan’s entire perception of Viole is turned on its head, realizing that his determination to climb the Tower isn’t due to a personal goal or ambition, but out of a desire to protect those he holds dear. Later that night, Ja Wangnan

The Next Test Begins and Mysterious New Characters Appear

The Team Prepares to Catch a Rare Treasure

After the encounter with Viole’s handlers at FUG, Ja Wangnan and the others embark on a new test involving a gigantic Shinheuh (“Divine Sea Fish”) called a Zygaena; a whale-like animal that is supposedly host to an incredibly rare flower. The team must enter the Shinheuh’s body and locate the flower in order to pass the test. The Zygaena has two respiratory organs, one on its back and the other on its stomach. The animal flips over at 30 minute intervals, so the team must be able to enter and retrieve the flower and time an appropriate exit. They split into two groups. Ja Wangnan enters through the blowhole with Arkraptor, Miseng and Goseng.

As soon as they’ve entered, the Zygaena flips over. Inside, they soon encounter the flower, which grows on the back of a juvenile Zygaena, which is reminiscent of a piglet and is extremely agile. They give chase, following it deeper into the creature’s body, but at some point it slips into a tiny crawlspace, and the only one who can follow it is Miseng, but she has to do it alone. Kang Horyang, Prince, Viole and Yihwa enter through the entrance on the Zygaena’s stomach, finding themselves in a very cavernous area where they are attacked by giant lizard-like animals.

Introducing Urek Mazino

A Killer of Rankers

Horyang and Prince deal with the creature, but more come literally raining down with arcs of lightning accompanying them. When the dust settles, Horayng and Princefind themselves amidst dangerous companyas a man named Urek Mazino makes no effort to hide his hostility. Almost sensing the danger, Bam, who had been separated from Prince and Horyang by the Zygaena’s flip, sprints to the scene. Horyang and Prince. Mazino never introduced himself, but he did say that it would cause a commotion in the Tower if his presence became known, and he had misidentified Horyang and Prince as Rankers instead of Regulars. According to Mazino, a number of Rankers had been sent by the Administrator, and they must have sent the Regulars into a death trap disguised as a test. He tells them that he’ll spare them if they forget everything they saw, but when Viole hears that they plan to forfeit this attempt at the test, he can’t help but stand his ground and fight.

He tells the others to run while he takes on Urek Mazino, whose face is finally revealed after an uncomfortable amount of time spent obscured, which put a damper on the impact of the reveal and made it feel like his mysterious aura was very forced. The episode’s first half was a wrap-up of the previous episode’s situation, while the second half was priming the next episode which is teasing a battle between this so-called killer of Rankers and Viole. The brief appearance of a shrouded character named Karaka earlier in the episode was also another element that will becomemore important as the series progresses. It was interesting to see why Bam got involved with FUG, and the upcoming fight will have to be very well executed for it to feel like the set up was paid off.
