The timing of the new update seems largely to have been released to take advantage of the PlayStation 5 Pro, which is slated for release on November 7. The mid-generation console includes major upgrades to rendering, memory, and storage over the original PlayStation 5. Although players can see upgraded performance with any game running on the more-powerful hardware, several developers have been retooling older games and planning new games specifically for optimized PS5 Pro performance, with the currentlist of PS5 Pro-optimized gamesnumbering more than 50 just days ahead of the console’s launch. The notes also make mention of several other known issues that the development team has not fixed yet, but progress is being made to address them. Just days after launch,Until Dawnwas struggling on PC, with a number of performance issues. Until certain performance issues can be fixed, the patch notes state that Enhanced Ray Tracing has been temporarily disabled, as has FSR Frame Generation for PCs running the game on Nvidia 40-series graphics cards.
