Crafting is one of the most important mechanics inAbiotic Factor.From the moment you are set free in the facility, you’ll begin collecting materials and learning recipes that will carry you through the entire game. However, there is an element of this crafting that can be tricky if you are entering the world for the first time. As you start to unlock crafting recipes, you’ll notice that many of the simpler items can be crafted by simply enteringAbiotic Factor’s crafting menu. But there are several more complex recipes that require you to use aPowered Crafting Bench. Like most elements of the game, there is very little in the way of hand-holding, so you’ll have to figure out where the benches are located. In this guide, we’ll show you where to find andhow to craft Powered Crafting Benches inAbiotic Factor.
How to Create Powered Crafting Benches in Abiotic Factor
From very early inAbiotic Factor,Powered Crafting Bencheswill be required to make progress. In fact, the first mission in the game –opening the cafeteria door for Dr. Jager– will require their use. The game does not give you much in the way of help when it comes to figuring these things out, so it can be tough, especially if you speed through the tutorial.
While you may suspect that Powered Crafting Benches are special stations found throughout the game, this actually isn’t the case. Like almost every other important item in the game, you’ll need to craft and build it before you can use it. Luckily, you won’t have to search the facility to locate the recipe.
When you first beginAbiotic Factor,you’ll actually have the ability tounlock the recipe for the Crafting Benchright away. Open your main menu and go to the crafting section. There, you’ll see theIDEA: Crafting Benchitem. This is a sort of mini-game that unlocks higher-level crafting recipes. You’ll need to figure out the recipe by placing items in the correct boxes. The crafting recipe for the Crafting Bench is:
Once you place the correct items in the boxes, you’ll unlock the Crafting Bench recipe.
Where to Craft the Powered Crafting Bench:
When you look at certain items in the crafting menu, you’ll see the image of them is darkened, and covered with the following text:Requires Powered Crafting Bench.The normal Crafting Bench is the recipe you want to craft, and you’ll want to make sure you do it in an area with a power cable. The best early-game area to craft the bench is the Security office near the cafeteria doors.
There are several reasons for this. First, you’ll be able to find Power Supply Units inside the room. Second, it’s simply a good location to make an area a safe space. There is a couch for sleeping, and it’s close to the kitchen if you want to make food.
ensure you pick up Duct Tape, which can be found all over, andMetal Pipes. While you make your way to the cafeteria door, you’ll come across several wall-mounted pipes. Approach these objects and dismantle them to get the Metal Pipes you need to craft the bench. Finally, in the small rest area in the Security office, you’ll see a coffee table near the television. On the table, you’ll see two computer towers with a note stuck to them. The note tells you to use them for spare parts, and that’s exactly what you want to do. Use a Table Leg to destroy the computers, and you’ll find Power Supply Units among the materials.
Once you have all three items, look for a power source on the wall. Craft the Crafting Bench in the menu, then place it near the power source. Next, pull out a Screwdriver and build the bench. Finally, attach the plug to the bench to finalize the Powered Crafting Bench. Now, you can use the bench to make a wide range of powerful objects.
