Grounded 2is built on Unreal Engine 5, and it’s commonly a programming convention toassign a code name to the gameduring the development process. By assumption, this may be done to prevent the game’s name from getting leaked if there’s a security breach and files with the source code end up on the internet. So, Grounded 2’s code name during its development cycle may have been Augusta.
However, this isn’t the first time developers have named aGroundedtitle after a USA city, asGrounded 1had the code name Maine. It’s a popular theory that these code names signify the city where the game takes place. So, the park inGrounded 2may bemodeled after a popular park in Augustain Georgia, USA.
