Summary
In response to bugs and player feedback about the 20th Anniversary Celebration event,World of Warcraftreleased a list of hotfixes forThe War WithinandCataclysm Classic. While some of the fixes were immediate, others will not take effect inWorld of Warcraftuntil scheduled server restarts are conducted by Blizzard.
In between each major content patch, Blizzard periodically utilizes hotfixes to address problems that can negatively impact performance in anyWorld of Warcraftgame mode. Although most hotfixes are made to fix bugs and glitches players report with events such as Hallows End and the ongoing 20th Anniversary Celebration,World of Warcrafthas also used them tobalance its 13 classesand adjust what they can do in PVE and PVP content. For example, through a series of hotfixes conducted in late October, the Dark Ranger’s Black Arrow and Withering Fire abilities were adjusted to make them easier to use around crowd-controlled targets in dungeons and raids.
Although the next content update forWorld of Warcraftis still in development, it has not stopped Blizzard from addressing some outstanding game issues.According to Blizzard’s latest blog post, a round of hotfixes forWorld of Warcraftwent live on the evening of November 8. Fixes were made to The Dawnbreaker and Mists of Tirna Scithe dungeons, as a bug caused some specific hazards and items to not behave correctly, and an issue that prevented players under level 30 from entering the Timewalking dungeon called Magisters' Terrace was addressed. Along with previous adjustments to the Blackrock Depths Timewalking raid, Blizzard decreased the health and damage of three of its bosses in Normal and Heroic difficulties. The nerfs to Lord Roccor, Lord Incendius, and Ambassador Flamelash willmake farming Bronze Celebration Coinsand gear a little easier.
Along with the change inThe War Within, the November 8 hotfixes also made a critical adjustment toCataclysm Classic. Withthe release of The Firelands raidon Normal and Heroic difficulties, a bug forcedWoWplayers who wanted to purchase a Heroic Tier 11 Helm or Shoulder piece to turn in both the Tier Token and the Normal mode version of the same item. Now, only the respective Tier Token will be necessary for Heroic gear, and players can keep their Normal Tier 11 gear.
While some hotfixes were immediate, others will not take effect until Blizzard conducts its weekly server restarts on November 12. Between the hotfixes andthe upcomingWarcraft30th Anniversary Direct broadcast,World of Warcraftfans have plenty of news to pay attention to.
