Jamie Lee Curtis has addressedwhether she would play final girl Laurie Strode in a futureHalloweenmovie. The beloved actress, whose recent roles inThe BearandEverything Everywhere All At Oncewere impressive, gave an interview toEntertainment Weeklyin late October 2024 and briefly mentioned her iconic character.

Curtis talked about what’s next for her acting career, such as the TV showScarpettaand the moviesThe Lost BusandFreakier Friday. She also talked aboutHalloween, which is one ofthe most significant horror franchises. Of course, fans have been wondering for the past few years if Curtis would be interested in portraying Laurie again.

AlthoughCurtis said she has thanked Laurie and has put that character in the past, she alluded to not saying that she’s 100 percent done with the character. Curtis said:

“I have hung up my bell-bottoms and my pale blue button-down shirt, and I have relinquished [Laurie] to the ages with a warm, ‘aloha,’ and a thanks for all the years and memories.”

Curtis added:

“And yet, if I’ve learned anything in my 65 years on the planet, it’s never say never.”

Althoughthere are no official plans for anotherHalloweenmovie,it sounds like Curtis might be open to portraying her famous character if the opportunity came up. Slasher fans would definitely be happy if that was the case. Curtis played Laurie inHalloween(1978),Halloween II(1981),Halloween H20: 20 Years Later(1998), andHalloween: Resurrection(2002) before returning for David Gordon Green’s 2020s trilogy. Although fans enjoyed revisiting the final girl’s quest to defeat Michael Myers in the 2018 rebootHalloween, 2021’sHalloween Killsand 2022’sHalloween Endswere less universally beloved.Laurie wasn’t used properly inHalloween Kills, and althoughHalloween Endshad memorable kills, fans criticized the strange dynamic between Corey Cunnigham (Ronan Campbell) and Michael Myers.

Curtis has enjoyed an incredible career that spans beyond the horror genre, having starred in movies ranging fromMy GirltoBorderlands,Knives Out,You Again, andChristmas With The Kranks. But, likeScreamfans were hopeful that Neve Campbell would returnto the slasher franchise, audiences would be thrilled to see Curtis take on her final girl once again.

If another filmmaker took onHalloween, whether making one more film or another trilogy,it would be fun to see a new take on Laurie Strode facing Michael Myers. It’s true thatHalloween Endshad a peaceful final scene and it seemed that the villain was truly conquered. However, many fans would agree there’s always a way to continue the story, as long as there’s a logical explanation.
