Despite being created by a relatively new studio,Wuchang: Fallen Feathersis easily one of the biggest single-player games to come out of China this year. This Leenzee-developed Soulslike was released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC a few days ago, and at the moment, it’s received quite a lot of attention. Although it currently has mixed reviews on Steam due to performance issues,Wuchang: Fallen Feathershas had a minimum of over 50,000 peak concurrent players on the platform each day. If one were to take those playing the game on PlayStation and Xbox into account, as well, that number would likely be a lot higher.

At a time whenpublishers like Nintendo have started to charge $80for some of their blockbuster video games,Wuchang: Fallen Feathersis being sold at the relatively low price of $50. Gamers who don’t want to scrounge up the money to purchase it outright, however, can also play it at an even cheaper cost by subscribing to Xbox Game Pass.Wuchang: Fallen Featherswas probably the most significant day-one addition to the service this month, alongside other games likeGrounded 2andTony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4. Although it will take a while for most Xbox players to beatWuchang, those who have already finished it won’t have to wait too long to experience another similar title on Microsoft’s consoles.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers and Black Myth: Wukong Are Different in a Couple of Ways

Black Myth: Wukongshares a lot of similarities withWuchang: Fallen Featherson the surface, but the two games are fairly different from each other in a couple of ways. For starters, unlike Leenzee’s hit title,Black Myth: Wukongis not a true Soulslike. Although it features a lot of boss battles and is a bit challenging at times, the game is more of a fast-paced action RPG thana proper successor to theDark Soulsseries. In addition to this,Black Myth: Wukongis inspired by a classical Chinese novel calledJourney to the West, so the game is technically an adaptation of an existing story rather than a completely original title, likeWuchang.

Black Myth: Wukong is Coming to Xbox Exactly One Year After Its Release on PS5 and PC

WhenBlack Myth: Wukongfirst hit store shelves on July 17, 2025, it was only available on two platforms: PS5 and PC. The game was initially going to be released for Xbox Series X/S on the same day as the other platforms, butit was unexpectedly delayed on Xboxdue to technical issues pertaining to the Xbox Series S. Now that those problems have been fixed, however, the Xbox version ofBlack Myth: Wukongis going to come out exactly one year after the launch of the PS5 and PC ports of the game: June 23, 2025.

Due to the somewhat unusual circumstances surroundingBlack Myth: Wukong’s Xbox port, some fans have accused Game Science of signing a secret one-year exclusivity deal with PlayStation. Although nothing has been explicitly confirmed or denied by the developers regarding this matter, it’s at least great that the game is finally coming to Xbox consoles in the first place.Black Myth: Wukongmay not provide the same exact experience asWuchang: Fallen Feathersdoes, but it’s likely to satiate Xbox fans who are longing for more Chinese-themed action games on their preferred platform.
