Named “Somewhat Confident Mary,” the three-leveled boat was built using smokestacks, a healthy inventory of Zonai batteries, a backend propeller, andTears of the Kingdom’s Brightbloom Seedsto give the vessel a glow during nighttime sailing. Link can also be seen steering the boat, but it’s evident the cruise is designed for short-lived sailing, considering the amount of battery life the journey consumes.
Tears of the Kingdom Community Loves Link’s Steamboat
The Reddit user was named “#2 Engineer of the Month” back in March within the Hyrule Engineering subreddit, and they also recently built thepopularTears of the Kingdomduck boat. Hailing from Canada, kmarkow cited the ships of the river city they’re from as a source of inspiration for the build, and it was also noted that this boat was created in response to a monthly contest hosted by the game’s engineering community.
Members of the subreddit expressed their admiration for the watercraft, applauding the Brightbloom Seed illumination and Frost Emitters creating the illusion of steam. There were also a handful of comments referencing Steamboat Willie. The Mickey Mouse IP recently entered the public domain, which triggered a wave ofthird-party Steamboat Willie games, and several Zelda fans thought Link resembled the whistling sailor from the cartoon.
Additionally, fans of the steamboat presumed it would be expensive for players to take part in the cruise, and the user replied in jest, stating tickets were 100 rupees. It was also mentioned that the Koroks of Hyrule would love the chance to sail on this boat, which may give other engineers ideas on how to populate their next sailing vessel.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the sequel to the beloved open-world adventure, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. This installment once again sees Link and Zelda battling to protect Hyrule from falling to Ganondorf. This new adventure takes place in the same land of Hyrule as Breath of the Wild but sees something called the Upheaval, which allows link to travel to Sky Islands, as well as deep into the Depths beneath Hyrule. Players can use special abilities to fuse together weapons, and build items to help them progress through the release.
