Shiyu Defense serves as a staple ofZenless Zone Zero’s endgame content, sharing a similar space toGenshin Impact’s Spiral Abyss. The game mode features multiple different combat stages for players to challenge, with progressively harder enemies and requiring players to build multiple teams. Shiyu Defense also tasks players with taking advantage of its unique buffs, focused around empowering certain characters and playstyles with a lineup of boosts that rotates multiple times each patch. A newZenless Zone Zeroleak is now hinting at the next rotation of the game mode.
Zenless Zone Zero Leak Teases Shiyu Defense Updates
A new post shared to theZenless Zone Zeroleaks subreddit is showing off the rotations of buffs coming withVersion 1.4’s Shiyu Defense updates. The first phase of the update, beginning on December 18, will feature buffs to Ice and Electric Anomaly buildup, as well as Crit damage and Anomaly damage boostswhen applying an Anomaly. The January 1 rotation will offer general damage buffs to Electric and Ice characters, as well as increased Crit Rate and Crit Damage when attacking Anomaly-effected enemies. The last rotation focuses on Anomaly buildup, as well as buffs when using special attacks.
The leak also details which enemies players will encounter withinShiyu Defense’s rotating stages. The first stage will feature the Ambusher, Arsonist, and Wanted Enforcer in the first half and Alpeca, Hoplitai, and Thracian during the second half. The second stage’s first half will feature a collection of Ethereals with Dullahan, Mandrake, Fossor, and Sordidus during the first half, while the second half includes the Beholder Engine and Hans. The final stage features a strengthened Fossor, Sordidus, and Thracian in the first half and Harrier Jaeger, Shield Defender Omega, and Demolition Jaeger in the second half.
Version 1.4’s new content is set to feature plenty for players to dive into, with exciting characters and content on the way. Version 1.4 is expected to include two new S-Rank characters during the patch, with both Hoshimi Miyabi andAsaba Harumasa coming to the game. The new Shiyu Defense buffs should cater particularly well to the game’s newest characters, with Harumasa launching as an Electric Attack character and Miyabi as an Ice Anomaly unit. Version 1.4 looks to be an exciting patch forZenless Zone Zerofans when it launches in December.
